The Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport has announced the successful completion of its annual reports for the financial years ranging from 2019/2020 to 2023/2024. This milestone is seen as an essential advancement toward improving governance, accountability, and compliance with statutory reporting standards.

This achievement arrives alongside a renewed focus on financial management, transparent reporting, and timely audits, a priority for the Coalition Government since it took office in December 2022. The finalized reports offer an extensive overview of the Ministry’s various programs, projects, and expenditures over the five-year period, ensuring that Parliament and the public receive a clear and honest account of its operations.

Prepared in line with parliamentary requirements, these reports are slated for review by the Office of the Auditor-General. The process has also led to enhancements in internal systems, improving record-keeping and facilitating better coordination among departments.

These vital reports are expected to be presented in Cabinet and Parliament next month, where they will be scrutinized by the appropriate parliamentary committees. This proactive step highlights the Ministry’s dedication to maintaining accountability and elevating service delivery within the public sector. The emphasis on transparency and governance not only aligns with best practices but also fosters greater trust between the government and the public, paving the way for continued improvements in public services.
