Merchant Finance Pte Limited has achieved a notable milestone by reaching its first 100 customers who have successfully purchased their homes through the company’s Home Loan and Land Loan products. This success marks a substantial combined total of $15.1 million in home and land loan approvals and settlements as of December 2025.

Among the 100 loans issued, 46 were for home purchases while 54 pertained to land purchases, indicating a robust interest in both housing opportunities and land ownership. Insights from Merchant Finance reveal that a significant portion of home loan customers acquired properties priced between $201,000 and $350,000, comprising 61 percent of borrowers. Additionally, 20 percent purchased homes valued between $351,000 and $500,000, while 13 percent bought homes priced below $200,000. A smaller segment, 6 percent, purchased properties exceeding $500,000.

Demographic analysis shows that first-time buyers tend to be young to middle-aged individuals, with 61 percent of the customers aged between 30 and 40, and 22 percent under 30. Borrowers in their 40s to 50s accounted for 13 percent, while only 4 percent were above 50 years old.

In terms of income, 74 percent of customers reported a combined annual salary exceeding $50,000, with the remaining 26 percent earning below that figure. Borrowers predominantly chose fixed-term interest rates at the higher end, with 65 percent on rates of 5.99 percent, followed by 18 percent on 5.39 percent, 13 percent on 3.99 percent, and 4 percent on 3.59 percent.

The application patterns indicate that joint applications were most common, making up 61 percent of loans, while 30 percent were male single applicants and 9 percent female. Furthermore, in terms of ethnicity, 65 percent of the customers identified as iTaukei and 35 percent as non-iTaukei.

Merchant Finance emphasizes that this milestone signifies not only the growing confidence among first-time home buyers but also its dedication to facilitating property ownership through accessible financing solutions. This achievement reflects a positive trend in the real estate market, showcasing the potential for future growth in home and land ownership among aspiring buyers.
