Megan Thee Stallion, the Grammy-winning artist known for her vibrant presence and musical prowess, is set to make her Broadway debut in the role of Zidler in the acclaimed musical Moulin Rouge! The Broadway production has announced that she will take the stage from March 24 to May 17, 2026, making history as the first female-identifying performer to portray this iconic character. Notably, she will be absent from the two performances scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd.
Currently, Bob the Drag Queen holds the role of Zidler and will conclude his run on March 22. Alongside Megan, Kelsie Watts will step into the role of Satine, replacing Arianna Rosario on the same opening date. This new casting phase comes as the Broadway production gears up for its final curtain call on July 26, 2026.
Megan’s entry into the world of Broadway is particularly exciting, as she is a multiplatinum-selling artist and the second female rapper to win the Best New Artist award at the Grammy Awards, following in the footsteps of Lauryn Hill. Although this will be her first Broadway role, she recently made her film debut as Gloria in the A24 comedy Dicks: The Musical, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer.
She will join a talented cast that includes Christian Douglas as Christian, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Samantha Dodemaide as Nini. The upcoming performances promise to bring a fresh and dynamic energy to a beloved classic, making it an exciting time for fans of both Broadway and Megan Thee Stallion.
With high expectations for her portrayal, Megan’s role in Moulin Rouge! may mark the beginning of a new chapter in her career, further bridging the gap between music and theater.
