The Los Angeles Kings have announced the recall of forward Jared Wright and defenseman Angus Booth from their AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
Jared Wright, a 23-year-old rookie, has made significant contributions this season, recording 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists) and leading all first-year players with an impressive plus-25 rating, which ranks tied for fifth overall in the league. His goal tally places him fourth among all rookies. Previously, Wright was selected by the Kings in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, 169th overall, and has shown continued development, having signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the team in April. His earlier career includes three seasons at the University of Denver, where he notched 54 points (32 goals, 22 assists) in 122 games and played a pivotal role in securing the 2024 NCAA National Championship.
On the other hand, Angus Booth, 21, has also been making strides this season with 41 games played for the Reign, contributing 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists). His rookie season was marked by a total of 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) across 50 games. Drafted by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, 116th overall, Booth signed his three-year entry-level contract with Los Angeles in December 2023. He had a successful junior career in the QMJHL, where he recorded 73 points (7 goals, 66 assists) over 198 games, highlighted by his leadership as captain following a championship-winning season with the Shawinigan Cataractes.
