Several school districts in Ohio faced threats on Wednesday morning, leading to immediate lockdowns across multiple campuses. One such district, Rocky River Local Schools, implemented a soft lockdown after receiving a threat. Authorities confirmed that police from Rocky River, Lakewood, Fairview Park, Bay Village, and North Olmsted were present on the scene to ensure the safety of students and staff.

In Rocky River, the dismissal for Beach School was delayed, and students from West Shore Career Tech who were off-site remained in their locations. The high school is scheduled to dismiss students at 1 p.m. A News 5 viewer reported seeing police escorting children from the preschool for pick-up by their parents.

Additionally, the Auburn Career Center in Lake County also received a threat, resulting in a lockdown. Fortunately, the situation was cleared by around 12:20 p.m. Still, the center decided to cancel afternoon and evening classes as a precaution.

Both the Rocky River and Auburn districts reported receiving threats via phone calls between 9:45 a.m. and 10:53 a.m. Shaker Heights City Schools also went into lockdown following a potential bomb threat, although investigations have not detected any evidence to substantiate the claim.

In further reports, schools in Ottawa Hills, Columbus Schools, Indian Hill High School and Middle School in Cincinnati, Eastern Local Schools in Brown County, and Bowling Green’s high school and middle school have also been placed under lockdown due to similar threats.

As law enforcement continues to investigate these incidents, communities remain vigilant, highlighting the ongoing dedication to safety within Ohio’s schools. Authorities are working diligently to address the situation and ensure a secure environment for all students and staff. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
