The West Coast Swing is gaining momentum as 147 players gear up to compete at one of the most spectacular golfing venues on the PGA Tour schedule, Torrey Pines, for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open. Both the North and South Courses will host this prestigious tournament, where ten of the top 20 players in the Official World Golf Rankings are set to battle for the third title of the young season.

Notably absent from the top-tier list is Brooks Koepka, who is making his highly anticipated return to the PGA Tour after a four-season stint with LIV Golf. This marks his first appearance since the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Thanks to the newly established Returning Member Program, Koepka will be required to play a full schedule on the PGA Tour and aims to re-establish himself while participating in full-field tournaments. He will not only compete at Torrey Pines but has also committed to the upcoming WM Phoenix Open and the Cognizant Classic.

Koepka’s inclusion has allowed for two additional players to fill the threesomes, further adding excitement to the tournament. Players like Xander Schauffele and Cameron Young are also eager to make their season debuts. Schauffele, who faced a challenging 2025 season missing the Tour Championship field for the first time in his career, looks to rejuvenate his game. Meanwhile, Young aims to build on his momentum after securing his first career victory at the Wyndham Championship last year.

Both golfers, along with reigning champion Harris English and U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley, are set to bring competitive spirit to the event, joining top performers such as Justin Rose and Ludvig Åberg.

The 2026 Farmers Insurance Open is scheduled from January 29 to February 1, held at the South Course of Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. The course, designed by William Bell, features a par of 72 and a length of 7,765 yards, with a substantial purse of $9,600,000.

As the opening rounds approach, betting odds for various players have emerged, highlighting the competitiveness of the field. Xander Schauffele is favored at 15-1, while Ludvig Åberg and Cameron Young follow closely behind with odds of 17-1 and 18-1 respectively. The Fowler profile continues to build with Patrick Cantlay, Si Woo Kim, J.J. Spaun, and Chris Gotterup, all making their mark as players to watch.

Åberg, who showed promise last season at Torrey Pines before falling ill, has recovered and seeks to leverage his previous performance to secure a top finish. Cameron Young, riding high from his success last year, is expected to embrace the challenges Torrey Pines presents, known for its thick rough and narrow fairways.

The tournament promises a thrilling experience for both players and fans alike, with talented golfers ready to showcase their skills in one of the most scenic locales on the PGA Tour. With familiar faces returning and new talents eager to break through, the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open is shaping up to be a significant event that could set the tone for the rest of the season.
