Ken Nunn, a prominent attorney and founder of the Ken Nunn Law Office in Bloomington, Indiana, has passed away at the age of 80. His family confirmed that he died on December 24th. Nunn’s daughter, Vicky Nunn, who has been a part of the law office since 2001, will be stepping up to take over leadership of the practice.

Ken Nunn’s journey began in a single-parent home in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where he faced numerous challenges in his early life. With the support of his then-girlfriend Leah, who later became his wife, he graduated from high school. Nunn earned a business degree from Indiana University and subsequently received his law degree from the IU School of Law in 1967. He started his law practice that same year, setting up his first office with minimal resources—a card table and folding chairs.

Throughout his career, Nunn dedicated himself to the field of personal injury law, establishing the largest personal injury practice in Indiana. His firm expanded significantly over the years, now employing nearly 90 staff members, including 12 lawyers, and serving clients across all counties in the state. Known for his determination to fight for justice, Nunn often drew inspiration from the classic film “To Kill A Mockingbird.”

Beyond his professional achievements, Nunn was a beloved figure in his community, remembered for his philanthropic efforts and contributions to various charities. His passion for Indiana University and basketball was well known, further solidifying his reputation in the area.

In the days leading up to his passing, Nunn was unable to attend a bicycle and helmet giveaway event for children at the Crestmont Boys & Girls Club, where his family members were present to represent him. His commitment to serving the community and helping those in need reflected the values he instilled in his law office.

Although his family mourns the loss of a cherished father and grandfather, they remain dedicated to carrying on his legacy. The Ken Nunn Law Office will continue its mission to advocate for individuals injured in Indiana, as per Nunn’s wishes.

The office is closed for the holidays but will reopen on December 29th, ready to continue the important work Nunn devoted his life to. His legacy as a leader in personal injury law and a community advocate will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on those he served.
