Sarvesh Suri has been appointed as the Regional Vice President for Asia and the Pacific at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a significant role that positions him to spearhead investment and advisory operations in the region. Based in Singapore, Suri brings with him 25 years of global investment and development experience, characterized by a successful history of fostering public-private partnerships.
In his new role, Suri will be tasked with mobilizing the private sector to tackle complex development challenges and generate employment opportunities. He will oversee IFC’s operations extending from India to the Pacific, directing a team that aims to deliver transformative solutions across various sectors, including finance, manufacturing, agribusiness, services, and infrastructure.
To support Suri’s leadership, the IFC has appointed two new Division Directors: Keiko Miwa, who will manage South West Asia and the Pacific Islands from Jakarta, Indonesia, and Arnaud Dupoizat, who will take charge of East Asia from Hong Kong starting February 1, 2026.
Before this appointment, Suri served as the IFC’s Regional Industry Director for Infrastructure and Natural Resources in Johannesburg, South Africa, and has held several leadership roles during his 15-year tenure at the organization. His experience includes overseeing business operations across Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Papua New Guinea from Jakarta.
In addressing the challenges facing countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Suri highlighted the universal desire for gainful employment among the populace. “What unites people across the region is that they all want the dignity of a job — livelihoods to support themselves and their families,” he stated. Suri emphasized a strategic focus on maximizing IFC’s capabilities in private sector solutions to foster job creation. This includes mobilizing private capital, enhancing local capital markets, and investing in micro, small, and medium enterprises, which are pivotal for economic growth and job opportunities.
Suri is an Indian national, holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi University. His leadership is expected to galvanize efforts to address the pressing developmental needs of the region while creating sustainable livelihoods for its people.
