A chilly cold front is expected to move across the Gulf Coast on Monday night, bringing cooler temperatures just in time for New Year’s celebrations. Residents planning to ring in 2026 outdoors should consider bundling up, as temperatures are set to drop significantly. In Naples, the city will kick off its fireworks celebration ahead of schedule on Saturday night, allowing families to enjoy the show before settling in early.

As the cold front rolls in around midnight, we can expect a noticeable change in weather, with the temperatures plummeting overnight. On Tuesday morning, many areas will wake up to temperatures in the 50s. However, those in northern parts such as DeSoto and Charlotte Counties might feel the chill a bit more, with temperatures dipping into the upper 40s. The real bite of the cold will settle in on Wednesday morning, when temperatures could be as low as 33°F in Arcadia and in the upper 30s for other areas.

Throughout Tuesday, daytime highs will struggle to reach the 60s, well below the seasonal average of 76°F. Following the dip in temperatures, residents can look forward to a gradual warming trend heading into the weekend, with temperatures expected to improve to the low 60s by Sunday morning, promising more pleasant weather after the cold snap.

Despite the forecast of a cold start to the New Year, it is encouraging to note that warmer temperatures are just around the corner, giving residents something to look forward to as the week progresses.
