New design details for Apple’s highly anticipated folding iPhone have emerged, courtesy of leaks from the Weibo account Instant Digital. These revelations provide intriguing insights into the device’s unique features and specifications.

Notably, the upcoming folding iPhone is expected to display an unconventional button placement, with volume buttons located on the top edge of the right side, setting it apart from the traditional iPhone layout. Meanwhile, the power button, which integrates Touch ID functionality, and the camera button, remain positioned along the right side, consistent with current iPhone models.

Internally, Apple appears to have opted for an innovative layout, with the main logic board situated on the right side to minimize cable connections to the left half, which will primarily accommodate the device’s battery and display components. This new design is anticipated to provide the largest total battery capacity ever seen in an iPhone, enhancing usability for users.

The back of the right half of the device will feature a horizontal black camera plateau reminiscent of the iPhone Air, housing dual cameras, an LED flash, and a microphone. Interestingly, this plateau is reported to remain black regardless of the iPhone Fold’s color variant.

As for color options, while only a white variant has been officially confirmed, speculation suggests that a second color, likely black, will be available at the device’s launch.

This ongoing reveal of design elements signifies Apple’s commitment to innovation and user experience, paving the way for a potentially game-changing addition to its product line. If these details hold true, the folding iPhone could represent a significant evolution in smartphone design and functionality.
