Ashwant Rishabh Maharaj is eagerly preparing to conclude his high school journey on a high note, as he gears up for his second Coca-Cola Games. The talented sprinter, specializing in the 100 and 200 meters, previously showcased his abilities at the distinguished Fiji Finals in 2022, when he represented Dilkusha Methodist High School as a freshman.

Since that first appearance, Maharaj has qualified for every Triple N zone but has faced challenges replicating the success he found in Year Nine. Balancing the demands of academics and football, the 18-year-old is fully committed to making a lasting impact in his final year.

“I’m working really hard this year. I started training last year, and I’m giving my best to compete at the Coca Cola Games since this is my final year,” expressed Maharaj. He is focused on competing again in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the 4×100 meters relay at the upcoming Triple N zone, following an impressive showing in his school’s interhouse competition.

Maharaj took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to the supporters who have been pivotal in his journey, particularly those who aided his preparation for the last interhouse event. “Today was really good. We all fought hard for our respective houses, and I want to thank the school management and our teachers for training us well,” he remarked.

As he looks forward to the Triple N zone, the determined athlete promises to give his best in training, leaving nothing to chance as he strives for a second—perhaps final—appearance at the Coca Cola Games before he graduates. His dedication and drive to succeed reflect not only his personal ambition but also inspire his peers and community as he prepares to make his mark in this pivotal season of his athletic career.
