Women and their supporters congregated yesterday at Ratu Sukuna Park for the “If Women Stop, the World Stops” concert, a vibrant celebration organized by the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement in honor of International Women’s Day. This free public event attracted a large crowd, fostering a sense of community solidarity in celebrating women’s achievements and advocating for their human rights.

Local artists provided an entertaining backdrop to the occasion, with performances from notable musicians including Laisa Vulakoro, Georgina Ledua, and Milika Roro. The lively atmosphere was further enriched by speakers who addressed the audience, emphasizing the critical issues surrounding women’s rights and the ongoing fight for gender equality.

This concert was one of many activities commemorating International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on March 8. The day is dedicated to recognizing women’s numerous social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments while promoting the essential message of equality. This event not only celebrated achievements but also inspired hope for continued progress in the fight for women’s rights.
