The Fiji Football Association Women’s Inter-District Championship is set to commence tomorrow at the academy ground in Vatuwaqa, generating excitement among teams and fans alike. The tournament will kick off with a clash between Ba and Rewa at noon, followed by Suva facing Labasa at 2 PM.

Suva’s Head Coach, Savaira Ranatuniratu, expressed confidence as her team prepares to tackle Labasa in their opening match. Despite facing challenges due to limited preparation time following the holiday break, she noted that the team is taking a serious approach to the championship. Many young players are stepping up to fill the gaps left by absent senior members, showcasing the club’s depth and potential.

Ranatuniratu believes that the IDC will serve as a rigorous test for her developing squad against formidable district competitors. The mix of experience and youthful energy within the team is promising, with several Under-19 players making a smooth transition to the senior ranks.

The championship schedule includes three rounds of matches, with Suva also set to play Ba and Rewa in the following days. As the tournament unfolds, there is optimism that these matches will foster growth and display the evolving talent in women’s football in Fiji.
