The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji (CAAF) has reported a precautionary landing of a helicopter registered in Fiji, which took place in the Sigatoka Valley on Monday due to adverse weather conditions. The helicopter was in transit to Nadi when the deteriorating weather forced the pilot to land at a safe location, adhering to essential aviation safety protocols as well as Fiji’s Air Navigation Regulations.
CAAF assured the public that the landing was conducted without any injuries to the individuals onboard. There was, however, a slight delay in establishing communication with the helicopter post-landing attributed to limited coverage in the area. Despite this, standard aviation alerting procedures were promptly set into motion to maintain safety until communication was restored.
