The 2026 Women Invigorating the Nation (WIN) Convention has officially opened its registration, marking a significant advancement for women’s empowerment and leadership throughout Fiji. This year’s event aims to create a dynamic platform where women can learn, connect, and build essential partnerships that facilitate their success.
Eldon Eastgate, President of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation, addressed the importance of women’s roles in shaping the future of the nation. He acknowledged that while many women in Fiji are already leading transformative changes, numerous barriers still hinder their opportunities.
Eastgate stated, “At FCEF, we believe empowering women is not just the right thing to do; it is essential for Fiji’s economic growth. When women have access to skills, resources, and leadership opportunities, they create businesses, drive innovation, and strengthen our workforce.” He expressed gratitude towards the WIN team, sponsors, partners, and all supporters who have made the convention possible.
Over the course of two days, the convention will delve into critical topics such as policies, leadership, access to capital, the role of artificial intelligence, financial innovation, and gender-responsive climate action. Eastgate emphasized the need for all stakeholders to commit to investing in women in meaningful and sustainable ways.
The theme of this year’s WIN Convention is “Give to Gain: Investing in Women Transforms Our Future,” highlighting the significant impact of women’s empowerment on the broader community and future growth. This initiative not only seeks to uplift women’s status but also underscores their invaluable contributions to Fiji’s economy and society at large.
