FIJI Link has proudly introduced its latest ATR aircraft to Nadi, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s fleet. This delivery journey was quite remarkable, as the aircraft traveled across eight countries before successfully landing in Fiji on January 7. Starting in Toulouse, France, the aircraft made stops in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands.
The addition of this new aircraft is not merely about renewing the fleet, according to Fiji Airways. It signifies a crucial step towards enhancing domestic and regional connectivity. Athil Narayan, Chief Fiji Link and Cargo Operations Officer, stated, “This new ATR is more than a fleet renewal. Every new aircraft allows us to further strengthen domestic and regional connectivity; it brings people together and creates opportunities for connection, trade, and shared experiences across our islands and the Pacific.”
The new ATR aircraft is equipped with features that improve fuel efficiency and performance, particularly in island environments, while also offering greater passenger comfort. Fiji Link is currently finalizing preparations to deploy the aircraft on essential domestic routes, ensuring it is fully integrated into their service shortly.
This development not only underscores Fiji Link’s dedication to enhancing travel within the Pacific region but also boosts connectivity for both residents and tourists. It is expected to foster increased trade and tourism opportunities throughout the islands, setting a positive outlook for the future of transportation in Fiji and beyond.
