Fiji and India have reinforced their burgeoning digital partnership at the recent AI Impact Summit organized by the Government of India. During this pivotal event, Minister for Policing and Communications, Ioane Naivalurua, engaged with India’s Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Naivalurua extended congratulations to India for successfully hosting the summit, emphasizing Fiji’s commitment to digital transformation as outlined in its National Digital Strategy. This strategy aims to modernize public services, enhance cybersecurity, and utilize artificial intelligence responsibly to bolster governance and economic development.

In turn, Vaishnaw shared insights from India’s advancements in digital public infrastructure, including the successful implementation of digital identity systems and payment platforms. He indicated India’s willingness to assist Fiji through technical support and capacity-building initiatives.
