Fiji Airways has been designated as the Premium Event Partner for the upcoming Fiji Tourism Exchange (FTE) 2026, which is set to take place from March 27 to March 28. This flagship event, organized by Tourism Fiji, aims to bring together local tourism operators, international buyers, and industry stakeholders to enhance Fiji’s tourism offerings and establish valuable global trade connections in an increasingly competitive tourism landscape.

Tourism Fiji emphasized that this partnership underscores the synergy between the airline and Tourism Fiji in promoting Fiji’s international tourism presence and fostering sustainable growth within the sector. “As Fiji’s national carrier, Fiji Airways plays a critical role in connecting the destination to global markets and enabling the continued development of the tourism industry. Its ongoing support of the Fiji Tourism Exchange reinforces the necessity for collaboration between national partners and industry participants in achieving beneficial economic and social outcomes,” stated a representative from Tourism Fiji.

Dr. Paresh Pant, the chief executive officer of Tourism Fiji, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its importance in executing the event successfully. He noted that Fiji Airways is essential in contributing to Fiji’s tourism successes, enhancing global connectivity, and acting as a strong advocate for the islands.

Fiji Airways’ managing director and CEO Paul Scurrah shared similar sentiments. He expressed pride in being the Premium Event Partner for FTE 2026, emphasizing that as the first point of contact for travelers arriving in Fiji, they set the standard for visitors’ experiences with their exceptional service. “FTE serves as a vital platform for fortifying our global partnerships, showcasing the best of Fiji, and supporting the sustainable growth of the tourism sector,” he remarked.

As part of FTE 2026, Tourism Fiji has planned two days filled with structured business-to-business meetings, networking opportunities, and industry engagement sessions. This year’s program will highlight the wide array of tourism experiences available in Fiji, including luxury offerings, cultural adventures, marine tourism, and nature-based experiences, while also spotlighting community-led initiatives.

The decision to move the event to March marks a strategic shift designed to align with global travel planning cycles, positioning FTE ahead of Fiji’s peak visitor season. This change is expected to optimize benefits for both international partners and local operators, ensuring a successful exchange that promotes the authentic Fijian experience.

As the tourism sector progressively prepares for the influx of visitors, the Fiji Tourism Exchange emerges as a beacon of hope for revitalization, showcasing the resilience and enduring appeal of Fiji as a premier travel destination.
