The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Fiji is actively monitoring the changing security dynamics in the Middle East. So far, there have been no confirmed reports indicating that Fijians have been directly impacted by the recent unrest in the region.

In an official statement, the ministry expressed its commitment to staying informed about developments while maintaining direct communication with Fijian nationals residing in the area. “The ministry can confirm that, at this stage, there are no reports of Fijian nationals being directly affected by the recent incidents,” the statement noted.

The Fiji Embassy in Jerusalem and Abu Dhabi is in close contact with local authorities and has established communication channels to ensure the safety and well-being of Fijians. In light of the ongoing situation, the Ministry has activated an emergency Operations Centre at its headquarters in Suva to manage monitoring efforts and coordinate a prompt consular response if needed.

Furthermore, a contingency plan has been formulated to provide necessary consular support to Fijian nationals in the event of any escalation in the security situation. This proactive approach underscores the Ministry’s dedication to ensuring the safety of its citizens abroad.
