The 2025 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, held in Nadi last Saturday, celebrated the achievements of several prominent players in the tourism industry, with Rosie Holidays, Nanuku Island Resort, and IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji standing out among the winners.
Rosie Holidays was a significant highlight of the evening, securing three prestigious awards including the 2025 Inbound and Transport Operator Award, the 2025 Cultural Tourism Champion accolade awarded to Eroni Bole, and the 2025 Accommodation Deluxe award for Malolo Island Resort, which has fewer than 50 rooms. Tony Whitton, managing director of Rosie Travel Group and Ahura Resorts, expressed pride in their team, which consists of over 700 employees, acknowledging their contributions to the company’s success and commitment to excellence.
IHG Hotels and Resorts Fiji also made a notable impact, with regional general manager Lachlan Walker emphasizing the importance of their workforce as their most valuable asset. The group received two awards: Conference and Incentives Operator of the Year and the Training and Development Award. Additionally, Akshay Alvin Chand, the IT manager for Intercontinental Resort, was honored with the Rising Star award, showcasing the commitment IHG has to fostering talent within their ranks.
Nanuku Island Resort, based in Pacific Harbour, enjoyed success by winning the Community CSR Award for their remarkable efforts in supporting local villages and communities in Serua. They also took home the 2025 Food Tourism Award, marking a significant recognition of their focused initiatives in this area. Human resources manager Charlotte Steele noted that the recognition reflects their hard work over the past four years and dedicated the achievement to their staff in Pacific Harbour, acknowledging that their efforts were crucial in reaching this milestone.
These awards underline the commitment and dedication of the tourism sector in Fiji, highlighting how collaboration and exceptional service continue to elevate the industry, contributing to the region’s growth and development.
