The family of former New York Giants cornerback Sam Beal is appealing for assistance in their search for the athlete who has been missing since July. Essence Zhane, Beal’s older sister, highlighted the emotional burden their family has endured as they approach the seven-month mark without any contact from him. She shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, expressing their desperation for answers and offering love and support to her brother.
Zhane refrained from delving into the circumstances surrounding Beal’s disappearance, which occurred after he borrowed his girlfriend’s car to drive to a job he never arrived at. “I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s; I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure,” she wrote, emphasizing the family’s need for hope in an extremely challenging situation.
Sam Beal, recognized for his physical presence at 6-foot-1, played for the Giants from 2018 to 2021 after being drafted from Western Michigan University. His professional career included notable challenges, such as opting out of the 2020 NFL season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and legal issues that led him to plead guilty to gun charges—though he later had those charges expunged.
Concerned authorities indicated that the last confirmed contact Beal had was with his girlfriend last summer. She reported that he was headed home from Virginia Beach, where his girlfriend’s vehicle was found. Investigators discovered his shoes and socks near the car, with sand on the floor, suggesting a recent visit to the beach.
As the days pass and the search continues, the family remains hopeful that someone will come forward with information that could lead them to Beal and bring them the closure they desperately need.
