Extra Bula FC is set to rely heavily on their defense as they prepare to face South Island United in their second match of the OFC Pro League at Eden Park, New Zealand. Under the guidance of experienced coach Stephane Auvray, Extra Bula FC will encounter a formidable opponent known for their dynamic attacking style, influenced by the coaching of former Fiji national team leader Rob Sherman.

Goalkeeper Didier Desprez emphasized the importance of communication within the squad in anticipation of this challenging match against the Australian side. Through translator Kaile Auvray, he expressed, “Communication is very essential. So far, it’s been good. The communication with the boys has been strong.”

Coach Auvray commended Desprez for his pivotal role in helping the team to read their opponents’ plays effectively. “He’s been able to help the team anticipate certain plays, and they’ve been very reactive. For the most part, it’s been very efficient,” Auvray noted.

On the youthful front, 16-year-old Maikah Dau is looking to make his mark in his second professional match. Following a commendable debut, he aims to build on his performance. “For me, no matter how many minutes I get to play tomorrow, I’ll go out there and work on improving the things I lacked in the last game, giving my 100%,” he stated.

Dau also conveyed a level-headed approach to his expectations, highlighting his desire to enjoy the game rather than succumbing to pressure. “I just try to enjoy the game and not feel any pressure. I focus on going out there and enjoying the experience,” he remarked.

With a blend of strong team dynamics and youthful energy, Extra Bula FC is ready to take on South Island United, looking for a positive result that could boost their confidence in the league. Fans and followers are eagerly awaiting an exciting clash between the two teams as they showcase their skills on the field.
