The Philadelphia Eagles have added another candidate to their search for a new offensive coordinator, interviewing Sean Mannion, who currently serves as the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers. This development was reported by Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo noted that Mannion’s initial interview was conducted virtually, with an in-person session scheduled for this week.
At 33 years old, Mannion has a background as a former NFL quarterback. He stepped into the role of Packers quarterbacks coach in 2025 after former coach Tom Clements retired. Mannion initially began his coaching career in 2024 as an offensive assistant under head coach Matt LaFleur in Green Bay.
LaFleur has praised Mannion, pointing out his dedication and work ethic. “He’s got a bright future in this profession,” LaFleur remarked. “He attacks it the same way I knew he would when he was a player. Just extreme ownership of everything, puts in the time and goes above and beyond the call of duty, which is exactly what you want from your assistant coaches.”
Mannion was drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams after a successful collegiate career at Oregon State. During his time with the Rams from 2015 to 2018, he played under head coach Sean McVay. Following his tenure with the Rams, Mannion spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings, ultimately deciding to transition to coaching. Throughout his career as a player, he participated in 14 games, starting three, and completed 60.9% of his passes for a total of 573 yards, including one touchdown and three interceptions.
In his coaching role with the Packers, Mannion has directly worked with quarterback Jordan Love and has also contributed to the development of Love’s backup, Malik Willis, who has shown promise when given the opportunity to play.
The Eagles’ ongoing search for a new offensive coordinator comes after they moved on from Kevin Patullo, marking the fifth coordinator transition for head coach Nick Sirianni. Previous coordinators under Sirianni have included Shane Steichen, Brian Johnson, and Kellen Moore. With Mannion’s history as a player and coach, he could bring a fresh perspective to the Eagles’ offensive strategy moving forward.
