Concerns about internet speed are surfacing as data consumption in the country reaches unprecedented levels. Rajnesh Prasad, the Regional Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone, highlighted how the surge in data demand is impacting internet speeds for customers.

In an interview with FBC News, Prasad noted that December recorded the highest data usage for the company, with January’s figures anticipated to surpass those of the previous month once final statistics are gathered.

Prasad remarked, “The demand for data is increasing rapidly across multiple areas, with households having two or more devices. We are seeing an increase in data usage, and we are also upgrading our network; even with 5G introduced, we are enhancing our 4G network to ensure customers enjoy the services.”

The increase in data consumption is largely attributed to the growing popularity of streaming services, social media, and online activities among Fijians. With this trend likely to continue, Vodafone is proactively monitoring its network performance and is committed to evaluating its capacity and implementing enhancements needed to meet the growing demand.

This forward-thinking approach demonstrates Vodafone’s dedication to providing reliable internet services as the appetite for data usage continues to expand, ensuring customers can enjoy uninterrupted connectivity in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
