Connor Storrie showcases his impressive shapeshifting skills in a captivating promo for Saturday Night Live as he prepares for his hosting debut. The breakout star from the series “Heated Rivalry” faces off against comedian James Austin Johnson in a humorous contest where Storrie demonstrates his talent for various accent impressions.
The duel begins with a playful cowboy theme before escalating into Storrie’s stellar performances of German, French, and even Shakespearian accents. He ultimately triumphs with a memorable reference to the character Ilya Rozanov, delivering a line with a sharp Russian accent: “When you get to hell, tell them Rozanov sent you.” This punchline is accentuated with a flourish of his finger guns, leading Johnson to comically collapse to the ground.
Storrie is set to host the late-night series on February 28, with the band Mumford & Sons slated as the musical guest. He expressed his excitement about the opportunities following his recent success, noting the diverse range of roles available to him. “I have a pretty broad range of what I appreciate,” he shared with VMan, emphasizing his passion for distinct characters. “I want to stretch out, be bold, and see what sticks,” he stated about his aspirations to explore various genres, including comedy and horror, as he continues to carve out his path in the industry.
Following Storrie’s debut, the SNL lineup features an impressive array of hosts and musical acts, including Ryan Gosling with Gorillaz on March 7 and Harry Styles, who will perform on March 14.
This combination of talent and opportunity certainly paints a promising picture for Storrie’s burgeoning career, and it’s clear that fans can look forward to what he brings to the SNL stage.
