Four individuals, believed to be from Ecuador, along with two local suspects, have been arrested following a major drug raid in Vatia waters. Fiji Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu announced that more than 100 bags of suspected cocaine were seized during this operation.

This successful initiative was carried out through the collaboration of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID), and the Western Division Taskforce. Commissioner Tudravu highlighted that this operation demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between local law enforcement and international agencies in combatting drug trafficking.

Ongoing investigations are focused on the circumstances surrounding the drug seizure and the arrests, as authorities aim to dismantle trafficking networks and safeguard the community.
