Charlie Charters has received official permission to travel abroad for work purposes following a recent ruling by Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne. The court has agreed to a variation of Charters’ bail conditions, allowing him to journey to Australia.

In presenting the case, defence lawyer Seforan Fatiaki explained that Charters is required to travel to participate in a tournament. This request comes at a time when Charters is facing charges from the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, accusing him of two counts of aiding and abetting under the Crimes Act 2009.

As developments continue, further updates regarding this case will be available in our 6pm news bulletin, providing the public with more context on Charters’ situation and its implications.
