On Monday, expect a chance of flurries with mostly cloudy skies and blowing snow, with daytime temperatures peaking at only 13 degrees. Tonight, conditions will become exceedingly cold, dropping to a low of -3 as clouds begin to clear.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, residents should prepare for notably dangerous wind chills in the morning, with afternoon snow showers possible. The high is expected to reach only 17 degrees.
Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, but it remains very cold, with temperatures again limited to around 11 degrees.
The primary concerns following the winter storm are the blowing snow and plummeting temperatures. With high winds, wind chill values could drop as low as -15 degrees, creating a significant risk of frostbite on exposed skin in just 30 minutes. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning, which is set to last until noon on Tuesday.
As a cold front moves through, another round of snow is anticipated Tuesday afternoon, although accumulation is likely to be minimal, with only an inch or less expected. This week, dangerously low temperatures will persist, staying in the teens during the day and dropping below zero overnight. Fortunately, it is projected that temperatures could finally reach near 20 degrees by Sunday.
