Bula FC is actively engaged in an intensive two-week training camp at the Fiji Football Academy in Ba as they prepare for the upcoming inaugural OFC Professional League, set to kick off in January. Head coach Stephane Auvray emphasized that the focus of the training program is to enhance both athleticism and technical abilities, which are crucial for competing at a professional level.

The team is undergoing demanding training sessions twice daily, with a strong focus on endurance running. Auvray pointed out that stamina building is essential for players to remain competitive as the season progresses. Many players are experiencing soreness as they adjust to the increased workload, a transition Auvray acknowledges as challenging yet necessary.

“The players are adapting, but they are tired. The running is quite painful for them,” Auvray shared, highlighting the importance of determination during this rigorous training period. He has reassured the squad that the effort and hard work they are investing now will pay off in due time once the lengthy OFC season commences.

Looking ahead, Auvray expressed optimism that by February and March, the team will have developed the endurance needed to consistently perform at a high standard. He commended the professionalism displayed by his players, stating that they are demonstrating significant commitment to enhancing their skills, although they still require the occasional motivation to stay focused.

Bula FC is scheduled to face United FC of Vanuatu in their opening match of the OFC Professional League on January 17, to be held at Eden Park. The excitement surrounding the new league is palpable, and with their rigorous preparation, Bula FC aims to make a powerful impression from the beginning. The dedication showcased during this training camp is encouraging, laying a strong groundwork for a competitive season ahead. The commitment and resilience of the players signal a positive outlook for Bula FC as they embark on this new chapter.
