British Airways has recently announced the launch of two new Avios-Only routes from London City Airport, with flights scheduled to Madrid and Toulon Saint-Tropez this summer. This announcement marks a significant achievement for the airline, as it now offers its 50th Avios-Only service. Bookings for these exclusive flights will open on February 12, 2026, specifically for members of The British Airways Club.
The unique aspect of these routes is that every seat can only be reserved using Avios points, making them particularly appealing to loyal British Airways customers eager to utilize their rewards. The central location of London City Airport adds convenience for travelers setting off from the capital.
Prices for return flights begin at just £2 plus 21,500 Avios for the Toulon route, while Madrid flights start at £2 plus 28,000 Avios. Both options include 23kg of checked baggage. Toulon, a new destination for British Airways, serves as the nearest airport to the glamorous Saint-Tropez, providing an affordable gateway to one of Europe’s most desirable coastal locations. The flights to Madrid are ideally timed for the late May bank holiday, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in Spain’s vibrant culture.
Colm Lacy, British Airways’ chief commercial officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new Avios-Only flights, highlighting that they are consistently popular among travelers. He noted, “We’re delighted to give our loyal customers even more opportunities to enjoy the benefits of The British Airways Club.” Adam Daniels, CEO of IAG Loyalty, remarked on the significance of these new routes, stating that they amplify the potential for loyalty rewards, particularly during the busy summer season.
Since the inception of its Avios-Only flights in 2023, British Airways has operated 48 such services to 16 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East, providing customers with ample opportunities to enjoy the perks of loyalty and travel. The new routes to Toulon and Madrid promise to enhance the offerings for British Airways’ dedicated customers and contribute positively to their travel plans this summer.
