The popular Netflix series Bridgerton has honored two late members of its crew in a poignant tribute featured in the finale of its fourth season. Released on February 26, the last four episodes of the regency romance drama focus on the love story between Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson, and the household maid Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
As the season concluded, viewers were met with a tribute card dedicating the episode in loving memory of Nicholas Braimbridge and Tony Cooper. Braimbridge, a talented scenic artist, contributed his skills to both Bridgerton and its spin-off, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Meanwhile, Cooper served as a driver for the cast on various productions, including both shows.
Colleagues remembered Braimbridge fondly, highlighting his exceptional talent. Art director Alison Gartshore reflected on his exquisite craftsmanship, which included intricate marbling and wood grain finishes. She expressed her deep sorrow at his passing, stating, “Everyone who met him loved him, and we as a team are all very upset by his passing; he will be greatly missed.”
Cooper’s impressive career as a unit driver encompassed work on major film franchises and series, including the final three Harry Potter films, the 2015 adaptation of Cinderella, the Winston Churchill biopic Darkest Hour, and the hit series The Crown and Black Widow from Marvel.
Since its debut in December 2020, Bridgerton has captivated audiences and propelled its stars to stardom. Created by Shonda Rhimes’ production company Shondaland, the show intricately weaves the different love stories of the Bridgerton siblings, with each season spotlighting a different character. Following Daphne and Anthony’s narratives in the first two seasons, this recent installment has showcased Benedict’s pursuit of Sophie, marking a heartfelt progression in the series.
