Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son, Tyler, has been charged once again with child abuse after allegedly allowing his two-year-old son to wander away from her home in Windsor, Colorado. This marks the second charge of this nature against the 20-year-old in less than a year. The latest incident occurred on Sunday, prompting a response from authorities after a concerned individual safely secured the child. Tyler has been charged with child abuse without injury, a misdemeanor.

In a statement to 9News, Boebert expressed her frustration over the situation, emphasizing that there is “no excuse” for her son’s actions. She acknowledged the swift action taken by a bystander who ensured the child’s safety and confirmed that police were notified as a precautionary measure.

This incident follows a prior charge against Tyler from July of the previous year, which Boebert had characterized as a “one-time incident,” highlighting that there was no physical injury to the child involved. Despite her assurances at that time, it was revealed that the family had been in contact with Child Protective Services.

Tyler, the eldest of Boebert’s four children, is currently scheduled to stand trial in April. His history of legal troubles includes a serious car accident in September 2022, where he crashed his father’s SUV, resulting in significant injuries to a passenger. Initially cited for careless driving, the charges were later reduced to a lesser traffic violation as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Furthermore, in February 2024, law enforcement reported that Tyler was facing 22 charges related to a series of alleged thefts, including five felonies specifically for criminal possession of identification documents. He ultimately pleaded guilty to attempted identity theft, leading to a plea deal that involved a two-year deferred judgment and a requirement for community service, accompanied by a warning of potential felony charges if the agreement’s terms were violated.

These recurring legal issues raise concerns about the challenges faced by the Boebert family, reflecting a complex situation that continues to develop.
