Following the nearly sold-out derby on Monday night against Pisa, the Franchi Stadium is set to host a Conference League match tonight, though expectations for attendance are considerably lower. Current ticket sales indicate that approximately 8,000 fans are anticipated to be present, a figure that may see a slight increase but is unlikely to reach the ten thousand mark. This turnout aligns with attendance numbers seen this season and in past editions of similar matches.

Several factors contribute to the subdued turnout. The team’s recent 3-0 defeat in Poland has dampened spirits, alongside the inconvenient match time of 6:45 p.m. which poses challenges for working fans. While the strong showing on Monday inspired many to sacrifice their time for the derby, this time around, supporters appear more hesitant to commit, instead looking ahead with hope to future matches.

In addition to local fans, around 1,250 supporters from Polish club Jagiellonia are expected to make the trip. However, local authorities have issued standard bans and maintain a significant police presence due to safety concerns, particularly concerning a group of approximately 300 ultras deemed to be potentially troublesome. Detailed preparations for security have been in place for several days, with support from the Polish police to ensure a safe and orderly event.

While attendance may not be at peak levels, the spirit of competition remains alive as both clubs look to navigate the challenges of the tournament, instilling a sense of optimism for what lies ahead in the Conference League.
