The workshop, organized by the American Samoa Weather Service in partnership with the Pacific Community (SPC), aimed to strengthen locally driven ocean services with regional backing. The workshop also highlighted the significance of the Pacific Ocean Portal, an accessible online platform that consolidates historical and near-real-time ocean data. Pu’amavae Ah-Mai, a Harbormaster at the Department of Port Administration, acknowledged its potential for improving operational efficiency.
