Alex Hall, representing the USA, expressed his joy after clinching a silver medal in the men’s freeski slopestyle event. In an interview with BBC Sport, Hall stated, “Feeling great. Can’t believe it really but I’ll take it all in for sure.” He highlighted the intense competition in the sport, mentioning that all competitors were pushing their limits, given the high level of performance required. “If we try something easy, you’re not going to do well. So we were all going full out,” he noted, acknowledging the challenges posed by tricky lighting conditions but was thrilled to successfully complete one of his three runs.

Looking ahead to his celebration, Hall shared plans to enjoy a low-key evening with friends and family, saying, “Not a big party guy so just enjoy it with my fam and friends, soak it in, nothing crazy.”

In addition to his athletic achievements, Hall voiced his support for environmental awareness, particularly through signing the ‘Ski Fossil Free’ petition. This initiative urges the International Olympic Committee to eliminate fossil fuel sponsorships and marketing. He reflected on the changes he has observed in skiing conditions over the years, commenting, “We’ve had events cancelled because of a lack of snow or pre-season training that we can’t do.” Despite acknowledging the travel-related impact of athletes on the environment, Hall expressed hope for a sustainable future in skiing. “If we can trend towards a better future, that’s the plan, that’s the hope,” he concluded, blending his passion for skiing with a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Hall’s achievements and his thoughtful advocacy highlight a promising blend of sporting excellence and social responsibility in the world of competitive skiing.
