Wizards of the Coast has unveiled its latest Secret Lair Commander product, Goblin Storm, announcing on May 6 that the red, storm‑themed deck will be sold exclusively online beginning May 18 at 9 a.m. PST. The ready‑to‑play 100‑card Commander deck will retail for US$149.99 through the Secret Lair storefront and is built around tribal Goblin synergies and the "storm" mechanic that multiplies the effects of spells as more are cast in a turn.

The deck, designed by Studio X veterans Eli Rice and Carmen Klomparens, is headlined by a display version of Zada, Hedron Grinder and leans into copies and copy‑triggers with staples such as Empty the Warrens and Grapeshot. Wizards says the product includes 12 foil borderless cards and an eye‑catching set of 22 foil borderless Mountains bearing original illustrations by artist Wizard of Barge, underscoring the Secret Lair focus on collectible presentation as well as playability.

Wizards’ official price was notably lower than some community expectations — the company set the retail cost at $149.99, while early chatter had put the deck closer to $200. Independent price estimates cited by MTGrocks put the market value of the included reprints at roughly $250, driven in part by sought‑after pieces such as Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep, Throne of Eldraine and Roaming Throne, making the bundle’s MSRP a relative bargain for collectors and players wanting the curated reprints.

Sixty‑three of the deck’s cards are non‑foil reprints stamped with a specific Planeswalker mark that distinguishes these printings from previous originals. That stamp matches the one used in Mystery Booster 2 and earlier Secret Lair Commander drops, indicating these are limited‑run reprints rather than new card designs. The announcement follows a stretch of leaks that revealed much of the deck’s content and artwork in advance; Wizards confirmed the official list and visuals in its May 6 reveal.

Beyond the main cards, the Goblin Storm package includes four foil Goblin tokens, 10 double‑sided tokens, a storm counter helper card and a dedicated deck box. Wizards has also prepared for expected high demand by implementing a notification system on the MagicSecretLair website to manage traffic and alert customers when the product goes on sale — an acknowledgement of Secret Lair releases’ volatile availability and the resale market around limited drops.

The Secret Lair Commander: Goblin Storm launch is timed to coincide with a scheduled Magic: The Gathering ban announcement set for the same day, giving the MTG community a busy slate of news to parse. With its mix of play‑centric reprints, collector‑grade art and a lower‑than‑feared price point, the Goblin Storm deck is positioned to attract both casual Commander players looking for a ready‑to‑run list and collectors seeking distinctive Secret Lair presentation.
