The extended runtime makes the finale the second-longest episode in the show's history.
Historically Outlander episodes have generally run around the 50-minute mark; only two previous episodes have reached or exceeded 80 minutes. The new finale ties the season 6 premiere at 80 minutes, while the season 2 finale remains the longest at 88 minutes. STARZ described the 80-minute length as the chosen format to close out the long-running romantasy drama, which centers on Claire and Jamie Fraser protecting the home they've built and the trust binding their relationship.
The streamer will make the episode available across the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on‑demand platforms at 12:00 a.m. ET on May 15.
