Kin Shriner, known for his longstanding role as Scott Baldwin on General Hospital, is on the road to recovery following a challenging period after what he described as “botched” foot surgery. In a recent video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Shriner recounted the difficulties he faced after an operation last summer left him struggling with mobility for six months. He attributed the mishap to an “arrogant surgeon” whose work compromised his ability to walk.
Fortunately, Shriner received valuable support from his close friend and former co-star John Stamos, famous for his role as Blackie Parrish on the same soap. Stamos recommended a skilled podiatrist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and after consulting with the specialist, Shriner underwent a corrective procedure. Since then, his recovery has notably improved.
Currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, Shriner is fully dedicated to his rehabilitation, regularly attending Powerhouse Gym for workouts aimed at regaining his mobility. “You gotta get it back,” he emphasized, insisting on the importance of addressing challenges head-on. This commitment echoes the actor’s previous experiences with foot issues, including his use of a knee scooter for scenes in 2019, which incorporated his real-life struggles into the storyline of General Hospital.
As he looks optimistically toward the future, Shriner expressed confidence in his recovery, stating, “I will be mobile soon. Very soon.” This positivity is a testament to his resilience and determination to overcome the obstacles he’s faced in recent months.
