Larian Studios has pushed another wave of user-created content to Baldur’s Gate 3 consoles, releasing 20 new downloads in the first week of May after approving more than 30 pieces of content at the end of April. The latest batch continues a steady acceleration of console mod rollouts—this marks the fifth significant drop since April 3—and brings three new subclasses and a fresh playable race to console players for the first time.
The headline additions are the Hellcleaver barbarian subclass, the Way of the Forge monk subclass, and the College of Command bard subclass. Hellcleaver gives barbarians a fire theme, adding fire damage, flame-related effects and bonuses tied to burning status; Way of the Forge shifts monks toward bludgeoning damage with metallic magic and a pyromancy bent; and College of Command is built around battlefield leadership and ally-focused buffs. Alongside those, several balance and rules tweaks landed—most notably Githyanki psionics have been converted from spells to non-spell abilities so they can be used while silenced, and a monk tweak severs the bonus unarmed strike from the normal attack action.
Console players also gain a long-requested race: the Shadar-Kai, added with two variants labeled Netherese and Elven. The arrival of the Shadar-Kai brings a new character-building option to console users who previously had to wait for PC mod parity to access that content. Other character and cosmetic changes include a restyle for Isobel that removes her facial tattoos and adjusts hair and makeup, removal of dirt from Counselor Florrick, 36 additional natural hair colors from modder Poesielibre, and braided hair available across all races.
Several utility and quality-of-life mods are included in the drop. Players can now summon and dismiss the tutorial chest via an easy toggle or carry its contents in a weightless pouch; a “Full Party Statue Buff” modifies camp statue bless effects to apply to every party member; a classic D&D dice set is available as a cosmetic add; and “Squire Evolved” lets users recruit Squire the Crestfallen Hound. Other mods add mechanical options and assets—Bane’s Cane is usable as a weapon for Archduke Gortash, “Transmogrify Dark Urge: Slayer Equipment” enables equipment transmogrification for the Dark Urge origin, and DMH assets for Rathgor heads have been integrated.
Larian’s console mod program has been ramping up after a slow start this year; while the current flow of approved content remains a fraction of the nearly 18,000 mods available to PC players, the frequency of drops has returned to the regular cadence seen before 2026. The new content gives console players greater freedom to customize builds and aesthetics, narrowing some of the gaps with PC mod offerings.

Reception appears mixed among players and critics: some of the subclasses and tweaks are described as modest additions, but the arrival of the Shadar-Kai race and several utility and cosmetic mods are highlighted as meaningful expansions of what console players can do in the game. Larian will likely continue vetting and publishing community creations as the studio balances quality control with demand for more frequent console releases.
